Why an NFT?
Web3 is a new iteration of the World Wide Web based on blockchain technology, which incorporates concepts such as decentralization and token-based economics. As Web3 continues to move forward, we believe that normal company subscription services will be left behind in favor of barrier-less ownership made possible by the Ethereum blockchain.
Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are cryptographic assets on a blockchain with unique identification codes and metadata that distinguish them from each other. Much like cryptocurrency, NFTs are verified assets held in a wallet solidifying their ownership; however, NFTs differ in that they are not exchangeable on a 1:1 basis like cryptocurrencies.
NFTs can allow for special ownership functions written in smart contracts enabling voting rights and unique access to token gated features. After the tokens are initially minted onto the blockchain, they can be bought and sold on the secondary market allowing users and market forces to dictate their value.
