Obtaining and holding NFTs

MetaMask is a cryptocurrency hot wallet that interacts with the Ethereum blockchain, and can most easily be accessed through an app or via a browser extension. Making your MetaMask is your first step in participating in Web3. Once you buy ETH, you'll have to transfer it from your Coinbase/FTX wallet to a MetaMask wallet in order to purchase NFTs.

To set up MetaMask you'll need to:

1. Head to MetaMask's website on Chrome, FireFox or your phone and click "Download".

   • Download the MetaMask extension for your browser or MetaMask phone app

2. Click "Create a Wallet"

3. Create a strong password

4. Once you have set a password for the wallet, you’ll need to click “Click here to reveal secret words” to show a 12-word seed phrase. These are the “keys” to your wallet and should never be shared with anyone and stored in a safe place.

   • The seed phrase is the only way to recover your funds should your device crash, your browser reset or you forget your password. We highly recommend writing it down and storing it in multiple places!

5. Confirm your backup seed phrase by clicking on each word in the order in which the words were presented on the previous screen. Click on “Confirm” to proceed.

6. Congrats! Your MetaMask wallet should now be successfully set up. You can now access your wallet by clicking on the MetaMask icon at the top-right corner of your preferred browser.

To transfer your ETH to MetaMask you'll need to:

1. Open your MetaMask and hover over your account name in the top-center of the wallet.

   • A tag reading "Copy to clipboard" should appear.

2. Copy the your address and head over to your Coinbase or FTX account.

3. Click "Withdrawl" and select your Etherem assets.

4. Click "Crypto Address"

5. Paste your MetaMask address into the address area and hit send.

6. Congrats! You will find your Ethereum in your MetaMask wallet shortly!
